OIhram is one of the pillars of Umrah, Hajj al-Tamattu', and the obligatory Hajj. One of the major challenges is the abandonment of Ihram at the Mīqāt due to ignorance or forgetfulness. This article, using descriptive and analytical methods, addresses these challenges. The findings show that if a pilgrim knows where the Mīqāt is and deliberately abandons Ihram, their Umrah is invalidated. However, if Ihram is abandoned due to ignorance or forgetfulness, the pilgrim must return to the Mīqāt if possible, whether or not they have entered the sanctuary (haram). If returning is not possible and the pilgrim is outside the haram, they should assume Ihram from their current location. If inside the haram and intending to perform Umrah or Hajj al-Tamattu', they must exit the haram to assume Ihram. Otherwise, the pilgrim should assume Ihram from the closest point to the Mīqāt, and if that is not possible, from their current location. Regarding delay or abandonment of Ihram at the Mīqāt, two views exist: in the first, the pilgrim commits a sin by delaying Ihram but their Hajj remains valid; in the second, deliberate abandonment invalidates the Hajj for that year, and the pilgrim must repeat the Hajj if capable. If not capable (mustatī), repetition is not obligatory.
