This research aims to examine and analyze the influence of conventional presuppositions (Irtikāzāt ʿUrfī) in deriving the rulings of the jurisprudence of acts of worship (Fiqh al-ʿIbādāt). The main research question is: "What influence do conventional presuppositions have in deriving the rulings of the jurisprudence of acts of worship?" The findings of this research, conducted using a descriptive-analytical method, indicate that the Sacred Lawgiver (Shāriʿ Muqaddas) has considered the presuppositions and understanding of people regarding words when expressing rulings as well as religious teachings. The words used in the language of narrations and legal evidences are employed in their ordinary conventional meanings. Where the Wise Lawgiver establishes a new construct regarding which the convention has a different understanding or is fundamentally unfamiliar, He has proceeded to clarify and define the dimensions and angles of that newly established term. Therefore, the principle in understanding the words of religious texts is conventional understanding, and what is embedded in the conventional presupposition of the meaning of words serves as the criterion for interpretation and derivation. Among the most important results of this research is that "conventional presupposition" is a contextual non-verbal indicator that must be taken into account when interpreting and deriving a ruling from legal evidences.
