In the current circumstances, explaining the foundations and structures of the jurisprudence of resistance (Fiqh al-Muqāwamah), considering the extensive cultural onslaughts, is an immediate necessity from an epistemological perspective. The main question is: what are the identity-shaping principles of the jurisprudence of resistance, based on epistemological foundations documented in Quranic verses, narrations, and the views of experts? This research, employing a descriptive-analytical method and based on library sources, aims to provide the groundwork for the discourse of resistance and answer the aforementioned question. The findings indicate that this structure is founded upon principles and foundations such as: the principle of the legitimacy of resistance, the universality and absolute applicability of resistance as an obligation upon everyone, the obligation to support resistance, the obligation to aid the just Imam, and the inclusion of rulings of resistance to military and civil paths. These principles, derived from Quranic verses and narrations and manifested in the fatwas of Imami jurists, are based on epistemological foundations such as: the reality of resistance in the systems of creation and legislation, the eternal struggle between truth and falsehood, intrinsic human dignity and responsibility, guardianship-orientation and connection with the divine will, and the establishment of justice and proximity to God as the ultimate goal of resistance. These shape the identity of the jurisprudence of resistance and support the fatwas of jurists in this field. Accordingly, one can explain the rationality and the reliance of the jurisprudence of resistance on clear intellectual and epistemological principles, and invite everyone on a broad scale, without regard to race, color, or creed, to support the oppressed.
